Hi, I'm Rob and I live in New Bern, NC. I am totally infatuated with CP's in the Croatan Forest and spend as much time as possible exploring new sites. Many of you have explored the picosins and pine savannahs with me.. McNair, JHT-Union, Wireman, and Mark Todd. I hope all of you have the opportunity to come visit as this area is under pressure from adjacent development and lack of frequent controlled burns. Come visit!!! Attachments:

Is that what we're doing after CrossFest?

Whoever signs up and pays for the trip yes. But we are going to other sites as well.

Be careful what you wish for, too frequent of a burn regime can devastate a nice stand of CPs. One of my favorite sites in SC went from a gorgeous hillside seep absolutely packed with S. flava, S. rubra, and rare treefrogs to a few small patches of almost exclusively S. flava and no rare treefrogs in just a couple of years due to more aggressive and frequent burns.
I have yet to get out to Croatan, but I'm going to try to get out there sometime soon!
