Hey everyone, new guy here. I got into CPs this year after a very good friend of mine rekindled my interest. I've moved around SC over the past 6 years to come back home to Charlotte just around the turn of 2013. The work I was doing brought me face-to-face with quite a few carnivorous plants in the field (primarily S. minor and D. capillaris), though my interests in herpetology have brought me face-to-face with many of the other Carolina natives.
I've found these plants to be something nice to soothe my mind over a relatively tumultuous few months. My interest in them has spiked, much like it did when I first began keeping and later started getting involved with research on reptiles and amphibians. I guess the carnivorous plants are something that someone with interests like mine would naturally gravitate to, seeing as the southeastern coastal plain is a hotbed for herpetological conservation research, as much concern lies in the conservation of declining pine savannas.
Anyway, looking forward to learning from everyone.

Welcome Mike!!
A lot of people in the hobby also seem to be very into reptiles and the like.

Welcome! There do seem to be a lot of us that like other pets in tanks. My other hobby is fishkeeping, but I'd have the herps if I had room!
